I was inspired to write this blog post by the events that have been going on in the past week or so. Unless you have been living under a rock I am sure most of you have seen some of the publicity that has been going on as Gabriel Union has been publicising her latest movie “Breaking in”. She and Jada Pinkett Smith have apparently had a long standing feud that they both have no recollection about how it started. This will be all hashed out on one of the upcoming “Red Table Talk” show Jadas facebook show which is quickly gathering a massive fan base. I must say I am excited to watch this upcoming show because it will address something that I am sure we will all be able to relate to.
How many people are you currently not talking to? And of those people how many do you actually have actual beef with. I have reached a point in my life where I believe my time is better spent dealing with self improvement rather than harbouring ill feelings towards others. Half the time that person you are beefing with has moved on and is getting along with their life so why waste your time. I say let be and let go, letting go gives you such a sense of freedom that allows you to create the greatness that is meant to be you.
Stop occupying your mind with negative thoughts and feelings about others, it is not worth your time. Forgiveness is freeing, let it all be about you and how letting go of your ill thoughts and feelings will give you such a sense of freedom. If a fight with someone has been occupying your mind now is the time to let it go. Imagine what you can achieve with the time that you will free up. Stop worrying about so and so and start focusing on your dreams and ambitions. Those precious moments you spend replaying that argument from days ago can better be spent researching that business idea you have been considering. Learning to forgive and move on has been one of the best new habits I have been able to maintain. I love the fact that I can use my time for me and what I want to do. So next time you get into a fight with someone ask yourself if it’s really worth your time or would you rather use your time up doing something more productive. I am sure you have people you don’t talk to now and when you think back do you really remember why you don’t talk any more. Were the arguments petty that then became about your ego. Regardless live and let live. Enjoy your week.
